Lochranza

From  Catacol Bay in the west to the Cock of Arran  in the east and taking in Glen Catacol, and Glen Chalmadale, this area has extensive coast, access to uplands, woodlands and moorland, with a number of areas of fresh water including lochans, rivers and burns.




Most of the widespread and common birds are found in this area (See Arran Bird Report
) plus there are regular sightings of golden eagle, black guillemot, red-breasted merganser, eider, and little grebe in winter.
