Kildonan

From  Bennan Head in the west to Porta Leacach in the east and taking in High Kildonan, Auchenhew and the island of Pladda, this area has extensive coast, access to uplands, woodlands, and a number of areas of fresh water including ponds, and burns.





Most of the widespread and common birds are found in this area (See Arran Bird Report) plus there are regular sightings of gannet, arctic tern and lesser whitethroat in summer, purple sandpiper, whimbrel, white wagtail on passage, and wigeon in the winter.
